About Us

Stefanie Bican, Owner

I have grown up with animals, and have always had a passion to work with animals of all sizes. Even as a kid, I would pet sit for my neighbors with my mom! I have worked at a dog kennel and as a veterinary assistant. I received a Bachelors of Science in Ecology, Behavior and Evolution (a biology sub-field) from the University of California, San Diego. The following summer, I worked for a summer with exotic birds and waterfowl. For five years, I worked at Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), a non-profit organization that advocates animal rights and the proper treatment of exotic and captive animals. I worked with a variety of exotic animals at PAWS, ranging from small monkeys to tigers, lions, and bears.

Overall, my experience ranges from rats, fish, and birds of all sizes to cats and dogs. I make certain to treat any animal that I have the privilege to take care of as if it were my own, and treat them with the kindness and respect they deserve. Animals have feelings, too, and they should therefore be treated accordingly. I currently live with my wonderful husband, a husky/malamute, 2 cats, and a green-cheeked conure.
